A seasonal business that doubled my friend’s salary.
In metro cities, it becomes very difficult to get some free time for oneself, and at the same time thinking about earning something passively makes life more frustrating.
In this city hustle, I learned a skill from one of my very closest and dearest friends John, who used to double his salary by doing some seasonal business.
He always showed me the real meaning of keeping things minimalist or you could say keeping it simple.
During the festive season in 2022, he took me to the local market and brought a lot of plain candles as cheap as he could have gotten.
It was not some kind of secret recipe, he just melted them and infused different fragrances, I understood the whole game when he poured those into some premium-looking jars and of course, adjusted the thread into it.
He later added the handwritten labels to it as well, and would you believe, he sold those to the same shopkeepers at triple the price, who knew that they had more margins here as compared to plain candles.
And by this way, he also built a strong network within the market.
